Frequently Asked Questions

In an effort to continuously improve and simplify our members' banking experience, SwRCFCU has made the decision to enhance the features and benefits of our credit card offerings. As a result, if you currently have a SwRCFCU MasterCard, you will soon be receiving a new MasterCard Gold or Platinum card that will provide even more features and benefits. Your new MasterCard Gold or Platinum card will replace your current MasterCard Classic, Gold or Platinum card. Watch the mail for your new card to arrive. Below are some questions and answers that you might find helpful. Contact the Credit Union for more information.

  • When will my new card arrive?

    Your new card should arrive late July. If you have not received your card by August 1st, please contact the Credit Union.

  • What will I need to do when my new card arrives with my new account number?

    When your new MasterCard arrives, simply:

    • Activate your new card by phone
    • Request your Personal Identification Number (PIN), if you choose to have one.
    • Sign the back of your card

    Update your Electronic Bill Pay and any Electronic Payment Options at all merchants or businesses that automatically charge your MasterCard for recurring payments.

  • Will my interest rate, account terms, fees or due date change on my new card?

    No, your Annual Percentage Rate (APR), account terms and due date will not change. You will keep the same low, fixed rate you currently enjoy and there are no new fees or increased fees with your new card.

  • Will I be getting a new Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

    No, for security reasons, you must request a PIN by simply calling us at 210-684-1054 and ask for Card Services. We will gladly order a new PIN for your card.

  • Can I decline the new card and keep my old one?

    No, all cards will be converted. We certainly hope you’ll want to take advantage of the great new features and benefits that your new card provides.

  • What happens to my current card and balance?

    Your current card will be automatically closed on August 16, 2017. Your balance will automatically be transferred to your new card and there’s no action needed on your part

  • If I am already enrolled in E-statements will I have to re-enroll?

    If you are currently enrolled in e-statements, we will transfer your enrollment.

  • Can I continue to view past statements and/or payment history from my old card?

    You will not be able to view your statements online, however, the Credit Union can provide you an emailed, printed, or mailed copy for the last 3 months, if needed.

  • What if I am traveling and not available to receive my new card at my home address?

    You will receive your new card at the address SwRCFCU has on file for your account. If you are on travel, please keep in mind that your old credit card will be automatically cancelled on August 16, 2017.
